How do you want to look north, south, east or west, where are you?
Did you look at the north or south, where the sun rises, or where you live? Can someone please explain. I live in California, how can I tell where north without a compass is that?
During daylight hours. The sun is somewhat to the south. It rises in the east and sets in the west. You can get a reasonably accurate estimate of the north, by the hand of your clock in the sun. The line that bisects the hour hand and 12:00 Clock is the North-South line. North is the direction away from the hour hand. At night, you can use the polar star.
